Small actions can change the world
Solidaridad sin Limites
Colombia lacks a well-developed health care system, and one in two of the population, approximately 25 million people of the population does not receive adequate health care services.
1 in 2 of the population, or about 25 million people, suffer from chronic malnutrition, especially among children aged 0-4 years.
The goal of Solidaridad sin Limites is to provide safe access to healthcare for those who do not enjoy the infrastructure of society, and to empower them with the knowledge to take care of their own health.

Paula Andrea Roldan Piedrahita is the current director and founder of Solidaridad sin Limites.
"We all live in this world to help others."
Paula worked for 11 years at the Polytechnic University in Antioquia as a specialist in judicial investigations and had important projects such as founding a company called Forensic Institute. This NGO, Solidaridad sin Limites, was founded from one word of her daughter's. Her daughter's words to Paula, "Everyone in this world lives to help others," made Paula realize that the meaning of human existence is to help each other.
"If you can change the world with small actions, you should do it right away."
These words from her daughter inspired her. If I could change the world with my small action to help someone, I should do it right away. The NGO Solidaridad sin Limites was born as a means to this end.
In December 2014, I founded Solidaridad sin Limites, an NGO that provides health care to the poorest of the poor in rural Colombia.
Solidaridad sin Limites, founded in December 2014, was officially established as a Foundation and Non-Profit Organization (NGO) on March 28, 2018. The Foundation currently has over 80 volunteers from different fields of expertise. They contribute their knowledge and experience to provide medical and personal care to poor people and animals living in remote areas of Colombia. To date, more than 12,000 patients have been treated, more than 4,400 children have been given toys and gifts, and more than 7,800 people have been given clothing.
"The reason we are here is for someone else who needs our help."
In a typical mission to a remote area, in addition to volunteer staff, equipment, supplies, and medical supplies are transported by plane to the difficult area. They arrive at their destination and set up a field hospital where all nearby families receive free medical care. We also provide clothing, human rights education, and workshops to enable them to live a self-sufficient life.
We provide support mainly in remote areas where ambulances cannot reach (especially in areas with indigenous people) and where medical facilities are too far away to be reached even after hours of walking. Future challenges include gathering enough resources for the expeditionary support mission and finding ways to transport volunteers and equipment to remote areas. Donations are currently our main source of funding, so it is very difficult for us to cover the costs of transportation, materials, equipment, and headquarters maintenance on a stable basis.
Health Day in the Guaviare region
From December 13-16, 2019, Solidaridad sin Limites traveled to San Jose del Guaviare in La Guajira to provide free medical care to indigenous communities. Comprising of 35 volunteers, they assisted 800 people and 150 animals, and part of the transportation costs were covered by donations obtained through Airfunding.
Health Day in the Choco Region
In October 2019, we headed to the Choco region with 30 volunteer doctors to provide free medical care to the indigenous people. As a result of raising donations through Airfunding for this mission, we were able to provide treatment to about 1,000 people.
Collecting food, medicine, clothing, and livelihood assistance activities
On a daily basis, we collect used clothes in good condition and donate them to people who have been affected by disasters such as fires and floods. For example, on the 15th Sunday of every month, they visit a house in Divine Providence where 45 mothers who were sexually abused as adolescents are living. They are mothers who have been victimized by human rights violations, and we work with them and other mothers with children under the age of five, providing psychological, recreational, and other workshops, as well as helping them learn to live economically and independently.
With $20, we can treat More than 300 people in poor areas.
